Green Lady ensemble
It was on a peaceful afternoon in the Belgian countryside. An English dish called Toad in the Hole, an auspicious reading of the oracle cards, and the joint pleasure of making delightful music together culminated in an explosion of inspiration. And thus was born the ensemble Green Lady.
Green Lady is primarily a duo, comprised of Belgian soprano Lilith and English harpist Sarah, who met for the first time long ago during their studies in the Hague. Although it took them many years before they decided to come together to form an ensemble. The range and depth of the baroque harp is a perfect companion to an expressive voice, ideally suited to exploring the repertoire of 16th and 17th Century Europe.
Begli occhi ensemble
Begli Occhi is a vocal–instrumental ensemble specializing in late Renaissance and Baroque music from Italy and England. The ensemble is devoted to using historically informed performance practices and, at the same time, looking not just for historical accuracy but also for current modes of expression. We are named after Barbara Strozzi’s love duet Begli Occhi - Beautiful Eyes.
The ensemble performs vocal duets and solos as well as instrumental pieces by Monteverdi, Frescobaldi, and Kapsberger, along with works by Strozzi herself.
Our group consists of two singers, Baroque Harp and Viola da Gamba. We come from Belgium, Germany, England and Israel, and have performed individually with some of Europe's leading baroque musicians.
